How to Convert a Huntington PDF Statement to CSV or Excel

Huntington names CSV outright, which most of its peers do not, and then caps statements at two years.

Huntington names CSV, which is rarer than it should be

Across the US regional banks, Huntington is the one that answers the question directly. Asked how to download transactions, it states that for personal accounts you click into the account to reach the Account Details page where there is a Download Account Transactions option, that business accounts use The Hub's Transactions tool, and that transactions can be downloaded into Quicken, QuickBooks and CSV formats.

Compare that with Regions, which describes a format dropdown without ever listing it, M&T, which reserves the right to change formats without notice and names none, and KeyBank, which names only Intuit connection types. Huntington just tells you.

Statements are the shorter side: 24 months, with Huntington adding that for older records you would need to contact them directly, and recommending you print statements.

Quick answer: use Download Account Transactions for recent activity in CSV. Statements run 24 months, so pull anything you will want later and convert it before it ages out.

The business package table, which nobody else publishes

Huntington publishes a real depth comparison across its online reporting packages, and it is the only genuinely published transaction-history depth figure we found at any of these banks.

StandardComprehensive
Balance and transaction history13 months24 months
Statement history24 months24 months
Export formatsCSV, QuickBooks, QuickenCSV, Quicken, QuickBooks, PDF, XML, Word, Excel, Crystal BAI2, BAI2R
Long-term archive7-year archive, 5 archive reports

Note the asymmetry on Standard: 13 months of transactions against 24 months of statements. So on the cheaper package there is a full year where the statement exists and the structured history does not, which is precisely the band a converter covers.

If you are following an older Huntington business guide and the package names do not match, that is because they were once Select and Premier, and those documents also reference a FirstMerit statement migration, dating them to the 2016 acquisition.

What comes out

Huntington's official sample statement is one page and dated 2011, so treat it as indicative. In it, the summary block runs Beginning Balance, Credits (+), Debits (−), Total Fees (−), Ending Balance, Average Balance and Low Balance, and the activity table is three columns: Date, Description, Amount — a single unsigned amount with the sign carried by the section heading, no separate debit and credit columns, and no running balance. Rows print a bare MM/DD with the year only in the header period line.

The converter tracks the section to sign each amount, takes the year from the header, and returns one normalised date column with one correctly signed amount column.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I download Huntington transactions as a CSV?

Yes, and Huntington says so outright, which several of its peers do not. For personal accounts you click into the account to reach Account Details, where there is a Download Account Transactions option. For business accounts, The Hub's Transactions tool has a download link. Huntington states transactions can be downloaded into Quicken, QuickBooks and CSV formats.

How far back do Huntington statements go?

Twenty-four months. Huntington states that bank statements are available online for 24 months, that for older records you would need to contact Huntington directly, and recommends printing statements. It repeats the figure elsewhere as two years of statements viewable at any time.

How much transaction history do Huntington business accounts hold?

This is the only published transaction-depth figure we found across the US regional banks. Huntington's Standard online reporting package holds 13 months of balance and transaction history; Comprehensive holds 24 months. Statement history is 24 months on both, and Comprehensive adds a long-term seven-year archive of five archive reports.

What export formats do Huntington business accounts offer?

The Standard package includes CSV, QuickBooks and Quicken. Comprehensive adds PDF, XML, Word, Excel, Crystal BAI2 and BAI2R. Note that older Huntington business guides describe packages named Select and Premier and reference a FirstMerit migration, so they predate the current Standard and Comprehensive naming.

Is the converter free?

Your first statement of up to 10 pages converts free on a new account. After that it runs on credits, with the cost shown before anything is processed. Files are uploaded and processed on our servers rather than in your browser, which is what allows scanned and photographed statements to work as well as native PDFs.
